Acquisition Contracts Department of Defense Policy and Business Resources Division (ACP) and Acquisition Center (ACN)
The Acquisition Contracts Department of Defense Policy and Business Resources Division (ACP) and the Acquisition Center (ACN) provide leadership to, and define and develop the capabilities of, the National Geospatial-Intelligence acquisition community. ACP and ACN report to the Acquisition Contracts Office, which is responsible for procuring critical systems and services that transform geospatial intelligence capabilities and enable war fighters and end-product users to support wartime, emergency, and crisis situations around the world. ACN and ACP's collective leadership, visionary foresight, and commitment to acquisition guiding principles support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's (NGA) current and emerging requirements worldwide and are well poised to meet the demands of the future geopolitical and geosocial environments. The ACP and ACN collaborate across all organizational levels and business units to establish and promulgate processes, programs, and policies that directly support and sustain mission requirements. ACN and ACP combine knowledge and human resource capabilities to best understand and meet customer needs, demonstrate exceptional commitment to the acquisition and NGA workforce, and recognize the urgent nature acquisition has in supporting the Intelligence Community's mission. NGA's operational buying divisions are augmented by ACP and ACN direct customer support, ranging from providing cutting-edge technology and program management guidance to every major NGA program touching every organization, to administering the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Program to grow a robust, dynamic acquisition cadre and culture. Further reflecting ACN's commitment and understanding of acquisition workforce needs, the NGA Procurement Board (NPB) was established to provide management oversight, review, and approval of procurements greater than $5 million. ACP has redoubled its emphasis on supporting acquisition mission requirements through compliance initiatives. ACP conducts Acquisition Management Reviews on its contractual activity to identify positive and negative trends and problem areas and make recommendations for improvement. Reaching across functional lines to improve compliance, self-governance, and corporate performance, ACP conducts training, prepares instructional training material, and oversees required refresher training for Government Purchase Cardholders, installation convenience check holders and approving officials. ACN and ACP have infused their collective experience, knowledge database, teamwork, partnering synergies, technology, and leadership Agency wide, creating an acquisition environment exceptionally well poised to provide relevant, timely intelligence products in support of National Security objectives and the collective Intelligence Community mission.
