Continuous Learning Opportunities
To maintain your FAC-C Certification, 80 Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) must be accumulated every two years. Refer to the OFPP memo on FAC-C to see what activities and training will fulfill the CLP requirements for FAC-C.
To maintain your FAC-COTR certification to act as a COTR certification, 40 CLPs must be accumulated every two years. Refer to the OFPP memo on FAC-COTR to see what activities and training will fulfill the CLP requirements for FAC-COTR.
To maintain your FAC-P/PM certification, 80 CLPs must be accumulated every two years. Refer to the OFPP memo on FAC-P/PM to see what activities and training will fulfill the CLP requirements for FAC-P/PM.
IBN (New in 2010)
Interest Based Negotiations
Description: The two-day class will teach acquisition professionals how to use interest-based negotiations (IBN) to reach mutually beneficial agreements with vendors, internal departments, colleagues, and other stakeholders. IBN focuses on finding creative, integrative solutions that satisfy each party’s interests and needs, resulting in the best possible negotiated outcome. This interactive course will include dynamic hands-on negotiating exercises that will allow participants to apply collaborative, problem-solving techniques to realistic acquisition challenges.
Objectives: Upon completion of the two-day Interest-Based Negotiations class, participants will be able to:
- Explain the difference between position-based and interest-based negotiations
- Describe the principles of interest-based negotiations
- Identify techniques for negotiating with difficult people
- Identify the characteristics and benefits of, and approach to building an effective negotiation team
Prerequisites: None
Who Should Attend: The target audience for the IBN course is acquisition workforce personnel at all levels including, but not limited to, contracting professionals, project and program managers, contracting officer representatives, and project officers.

- A-76 Post Competition Accountability Training
FAI has produced a series of interactive online training modules entitled "A-76 Post-Competition Accountability." This training explains the steps a federal government Agency must take to successfully implement the results of a competition between a government entity and private sector vendors. - Continuous Learning Center (CLC)
FAI has partnered with DAU to present the Continuous Learning Center within the Department of Defense resource to deliver comprehensive and continuous learning opportunities by supporting the Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (AT&L) workforce. There are 208 continuous learning modules available for training via the FAITAS. To enroll in CLC, please login to FAITAS and select Continuous Learning Modules on the left side of the screen. - GSA Federal Supply Service (FSS) Center for Acquisition Excellence Virtual Campus
The FSS Center for Acquisition Excellence Campus (FSS Campus) is a free online training service available to customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, encompassing online training courses and the GSA Schedules information. - Strategic Partnerships
FAI has partnered with academic institutions and other organizations to offer educational and training opportunities. - Seminars and Conferences
