Description

This Acquisition Seminar will provide an overview of key elements of past performance information, as well as the tools and systems that are available for past performance reporting and reviewing.

The Federal acquisition workforce is pressed to be efficient and fiscally responsible when planning, sourcing, selecting, and awarding contracts and orders to contractors. The Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP), with support from Chief Acquisition Officers (CAOs) and Senior Procurement Executives (SPEs), has made a great effort to improve past performance guidance, and establish new tools to help agencies improve their reporting. Leveraging these tools and sharing agency best practices for timely reporting quality past performance information will only increase agencies’ ability to deliver better outcomes and increase productivity on behalf of the American taxpayer.

Ms. Lesley Field, the Acting Administrator for OFPP, will kick off the session and discuss the importance that past performance information has in award decisions. You will also hear from a variety of outstanding key senior leaders from Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Department of the Navy, Department of Treasury, Environmental Protection Agency, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration who will share their best practices and strategies for reporting timely and quality past performance information. Learn how other agencies ensure 1) that their acquisition workforce understands their role in the past performance process, 2) that their workforce reports past performance information in a timely manner, and 3) that during the period of performance all performance issues, mitigation steps, and resolutions are accurately documented in the performance systems and made transparent to the contractor. We will also share successful performance management practices from Department of Energy and Department of Education.
