Implementing agency requirements for sustainable or green procurement - purchasing environmentally friendly products and services, setting environmental requirements in a contract, and selecting viable contractors - has been viewed as at best a nuisance and at worst an overwhelming obstacle. It is not an obstacle but a vital part of our role as stewards of tax payer dollars.
